About China-EU School of Law at CUPL
// The first jointly run Chinese-European law school
The China-EU School of Law (CESL) at the China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) was founded in 2008 upon the initiative of the European Union and the People's Republic of China. As the first Sino-foreign jointly operated law school approved by the Ministry of Education of China, CESL is one of the earliest law schools in China dedicated to the training of international legal talents. Since its establishment, CESL has dedicated itself to educating Chinese and international legal talents with expertise both in Chinese and European law; to providing professional training for judges, prosecutors, lawyers, and public servants; and to promoting research and consultancy in the legal field. The school has become a platform for legal education, research, academic exchange and cooperation between China and the EU. CESL has become a flagship project of Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools and a model of China-EU cooperation in the field of higher education.
