Scope of Functions of the CESL News Center
Conduct publicity and reporting on the School's major events and academic developments to enhance its influence. Plan and execute news topics aligned with the School's positioning and the needs of faculty and students, enriching campus cultural life. Organize and plan experience-sharing sessions on themes such as academic guidance, psychological counseling, and life tips, providing students with practical information and support. Be responsible for the daily development, content operation, and standardized management of the School's official WeChat public account and other new media platforms, ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and consistency of externally released information.
The CESL News Center's organizational structure comprises the Director Group and functional departments.
The News Center has three functional departments: the Interviewing & Writing Department, the Editorial Department, and the New Media Department. The Director Group consists of five members: one Director and four Associate Directors, each managing distinct functional domains.
The Director Group operates under a system of collective responsibility.
The Director oversees the overall operation of the News Center, refines management systems, chairs plenary meetings, organizes various activities, supervises the progress of tasks, and regularly reports work to the School faculty. The Associate Directors primarily focus on leading specific operations related to interviewing, writing, reviewing, and editing, and manage the daily work of their respective departments.
Specific Functional Division of Departments
Interviewing & Writing Department: Primarily responsible for conducting on-site interviews and gathering information at the forefront of the School's teaching, research, international exchanges, and student activities, and for drafting initial news articles.
Editorial Department: Primarily responsible for revising and polishing submitted manuscripts, ensuring a unified language style, and enhancing the professionalism and readability of news content. Additionally, participates in topic planning, explores in-depth reporting, and plans special columns.
New Media Department: Primarily responsible for managing and maintaining the School's official public account, including layout design and pushing/publishing news articles. Also responsible for designing and producing visual materials such as promotional posters, cover images, and supporting graphics for various School activities.
Review Panel: Primarily responsible for conducting multi-dimensional reviews of content intended for release. Key review areas include political orientation, legal accuracy, factual basis, and privacy protection, ensuring all published content complies with regulatory requirements.
The functional departments, with clear responsibilities and boundaries, operate efficiently and collaboratively under the leadership of the Director Group. They are committed to providing high-standard, in-depth, and warm-hearted news and information for all faculty and students, alumni, and stakeholders interested in the School's development. The News Center contributes its communication strength to effectively tell the stories of CESL and to serve the School's construction and development.
