Dr. Madeleine Martinek is a German attorney-at-law and received her doctor’s degree (summa cum laude) from the University of Göttingen (Germany). Her doctoral dissertation focused on the experimental legislation in China, particularly in the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. She additionally holds two master’s degrees (LL.M.), one in Economic Law from the University of Nanjing and one in Chinese Law and Comparative Law from the University of Göttingen. She worked for an international law firm in Germany focusing on foreign trade law and corporate law. Until recently, she was head of the legal department of the German Industry and Commerce Greater China in Beijing.
