Piotr Szwedo is an associate professor (dr. habil.) in the Department of Public International Law at Jagiellonian University (JU) in Krakow. In 2007 he defended a doctoral thesis entitled ‘Countermeasures in the law of the World Trade Organization’, later published in Polish with Wolters Kluwer Poland. He received his habilitation in 2017 based on his research on transboundary water trade published in Polish and later in English with Brill. He was also a visiting lecturer at universities of Kobe (2010), Nantes (2012), Marburg (2012), Kaunas (2013), Orléans (2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018), PSUAD (2016, 2017) and Macerata (2017). His main area of research are international economic law, water law, sustainable development and legal aspects of global governance.
