Rainer Kulms

Senior Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law, Hamburg


Dr Rainer Kulms, LL.M. (Michigan) is a Senior Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg, Germany. He is a Lecturer in Law at the University of Hamburg and Editor-in-Chief of the European Business Organization Law Review. Rainer Kulms graduated from the University of Hamburg, obtained an LL.M. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA, and was a Visiting Fellow at the University of Cambridge (Wolfson College), UK. Rainer Kulms has published widely on German, European and US corporate and commercial law, and the law and economics of related regulatory issues. He also taught at several universities in Southeast Europe and Asia, such as Tsinghua University and the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing, China, the University of Tirana, Albania, and West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata, India. At the China-EU School of Law, he has taught courses on Corporate Finance, Mergers and Acquisitions and Secured Transactions, and he currently teaches an elective course on Cross-Border Investments.
