Zurab Gvelesiani is an Assistant Professor at the China-EU School of Law. In June 2018 he earned SJD degree (Summa Cum Laude) in International Business Law at Central European University. His research focused on synergies between competition and consumer laws and analyzed the EU and Georgian legal systems. In 2016 Zurab was a visiting researcher at the Amsterdam Centre for European Law and Governance (ACELG) at the University of Amsterdam. He received LL.M. degree in European Law from Stockholm University and another LL.M. degree in Jurisprudence from Ivane Javakhisvili Tbilisi State University (TSU).
Between 2011 and 2013, he was a guest lecturer at TSU and later at Ilia State University in Tbilisi, Georgia. Zurab has worked for law firms in Georgia and in Hungary and has served as a lawyer for Transparency International Georgia. He has litigation experience in administrative and civil law cases. He has also worked in private sector and assisted a Georgian company to negotiate and sign international agency and distributorship agreements with various industrial brands operating in energy sector in Europe and in the US.
