Eduardo Gill-Pedro

Postdoctoral Researcher at Lund University


Dr Eduardo Gill-Pedro teaches the “Area of Freedom, Security and Justice” course at the China-EU School of Law. He is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Lund University, Sweden, where he is conducting research on the principle of proportionality in EU law. He also lectures on a range of courses on EU Law. In 2016, he was awarded his Doctor of Laws from Lund University. For his PhD thesis, which examined the relationships between fundamental rights in the European Union and fundamental rights in the EU Member States, he was awarded the 2017 René Cassis Thesis Prize by the International Institute of Human Rights and the 2017 Oscar II Prize for the Best Law Thesis at Lund University. Eduardo is also a Managing Editor of the Nordic Journal of International Law.

Previously, he was a Legal Assistant to the “Friends of the Earth” NGO in London, UK, from 2004 to 2006 and a Legal Intern at the Human Rights Institute in London in 2014. He holds an LL.M. in European Law from Stockholm University, Sweden, and an LL.B. (Hons) in Law from the University of Essex, UK. He also graduated in Agricultural Sciences from the University of Plymouth, UK, in 1991.
