Florence Benoît-Rohmer

Professor at the University of Strasbourg


Prof. Florence Benoît-Rohmer is a Professor of Law and responsible for the Master in Human Rights at the University of Strasbourg, France. She holds a PhD in Public Law. Between 2009 and 2015, Florence was the Secretary General of the European Inter-University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation, an EU institution formed by 41 European universities. She was President of Robert Schuman University, Strasbourg, from 2003 to 2008. As a human rights expert, she has advised the Council of Europe and the EU. She also was a member of the European Network of Independent Experts on Fundamental Rights set up by the European Commission and presided over by the Scientific Committee of the Fundamental Rights Agency of the EU. Florence’s research interests range from the study of the European Charter of Fundamental Rights, the European Convention on Human Rights to national minority rights. At the China-EU School of Law, Florence teaches European Human Rights Law.
