Course Title: WTO Law
Lecturer: Dr Ardit Memeti
Dr Ardit Memeti is a full-time Assistant Professor at the Kuwait International Law School in Kuwait and a Lecturer in Law at Maastricht University, the Netherlands. Previously, he worked as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law of the South East European University in Tetovo, Macedonia. Ardit holds a PhD in Law from Maastricht University, an LL.M. in International and Comparative Law from the University of Pittsburgh, USA, and an LL.B. from the University of St. Cyril & Methodius in Skopje, Macedonia. He is a fellow of the Netherlands Fellowship Programme funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ron Brown Fellowship of the US State Department and the Open Society Institute Fellowship for Returning Scholars.
Course introduction:
From 12 to 16 March 2018, Dr Ardit Memeti taught WTO Law at the China-EU School of Law. This course focused on the institutional and substantive aspects of the law and policy of the WTO. Dr Memeti addressed on the influence and the importance of the WTO Law, and the following topics were elaborated: WTO dispute settlement, rules on non-discrimination and trade liberalization versus other social values.These issues are very enlightening for the settlement of international trade disputes in China.
