As a Lecturer of Law at the University of Cologne, Germany, and a Fellow at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland, Max Baumgart specialises in European Energy and Digitalization Law. His research focuses on emerging technologies and intelligent infrastructure distributing clean energy. Max is also currently pursuing a PhD in Law at the University of Cologne and the University of Basel, Switzerland. Previously, he was a Visiting Scholar at the UC Berkeley Institute of European Studies, USA. He graduated with a Magister iuris from the University of Cologne and Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany, and obtained a Certificate in Transnational Law in French and English at the University of Geneva, Switzerland. He also gained work experience as the Managing Research Assistant at the Institute for Energy Law at the University of Cologne and as intern and student assistant at the German Embassy in Washington, D.C., USA, at a law firm in Brussels, Belgium, and at the German Federal Parliament in Berlin. At the China-EU School of Law, Max is a Teaching Assistant.
