Huo Zhengxin

Professor of Law and Vice Dean of the Faculty of International Law at the China University of Political Science and Law


Prof. Huo Zhengxin is a Professor of Law and Vice Dean of the Faculty of International Law at the China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL). He is a member of the China Law Society, the China Society of Private International Law and the Chinese Lawyers’ Association. Huo Zhengxin is also an associate member of the Centre for Private International Law at the University of Aberdeen Law School, UK, and an associate member of the International Academy of Comparative Law. He is an observer of the UNESCO 1970 Convention and a practicing lawyer of the People’s Republic of China.

His focus of teaching and research includes Private International Law, Comparative Law and International Culture Property Law. Recent works in English were published in International & Comparative Law Quarterly, American Journal of Comparative Law, Hong Kong Law Journal, Asian-Pacific Law & Policy Journal, Journal of East Asia and International Law, International Journal of Cultural Policy and other prominent journals. He has also published two monographs and more than fifty articles and essays in Chinese. Huo Zhengxin has won over ten awards for his academic work and teaching.

He received his PhD in Law from Wuhan University in 2005 and attended the Summer Course of Private International Law at the Hague Academy of International Law, the Netherlands, in 2004, and has also been a visiting scholar at Minnesota Law School, USA, in 2007 and Seoul National University School of Law, Republic of Korea, between 2009 and 2010.
