Stephan Rammeloo

Associate Professor at Maastricht University


Prof. Stephan Rammeloo (1960) is an Associate Professor in European Company Law, Private International Law, Commercial Arbitration & Litigation, and Comparative Law at Maastricht University and also teaches at the China-EU School of Law. He received a Master’s Degree in Law from Radboud University Nijmegen, the Netherlands. He conducted research at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg, Germany, while preparing his PhD involving conflict of laws concerning contract law at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, in 1992 as well as subsequent publications. He is involved in cross-border research on the EU Commission’s Company Law Actions Plans and was assigned as reporter the International Association of Comparative Law as well as for the Dutch Association of Commercial Law. He is assigned with the supervision of PhD research and involved in EU student scholarship selection programs, international conferences, programs for e.g. the European Judicial Training Network in Lisbon (Portugal), government programs (MATRA, Warsaw, Poland), summer law schools in e.g. Istanbul (Turkey), Belgrade (Serbia) and Rajasthan and Pune (India), Chisinau (Moldova), etc.
