Tibor Tajti

Professor at Central European University


Prof. Tibor Tajti has been a Professor of Law at Central European University (CEU) in Budapest, Hungary, since 2009 and is the Chair of the International Business Law Programme since 2016. Previously, he was an Associate Professor at CEU from 2002 to 2009 and an Export-Import Director and Director of the Legal and Personnel Department at the Machine Tool and Foundries Company Potisje in Ada, Yugoslavia, from 1986 to 2001. Tibor was awarded the CEU Distinguished Teaching Award in 2015 and the Dr. Elemér Hantos Prize in 2005 for promoting cooperation in Central and Eastern Europe. He has been coaching the CEU team for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot since 2002. His main fields of research are secured transactions and problems with securing performance and payment, law-growth-nexus, securities law and regulation, corporate finance, international commercial arbitration and other forms of dispute resolution, corporate governance, the public and private law interface and harmonisation of private laws.
