Christian Steger

Research Associate at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law


Dr Christian Steger studied law at the University of Hamburg in Germany. With internships in international law firms, he gained experience in International Arbitration, Litigation and Mergers and Acquisitions. Christian participated in the 16thWillem C. Vis Arbitration Moot for the University of Hamburg and coached the 17thand 20thVis Moot Teams of the University of Hamburg. He is a Co-Founder and Chairman of the Hamburg Vis Moot Alumni Association. Currently, he is working as a Research Associate at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg. He completed his doctoral thesis in 2015 and has been a Legal Trainee of the Higher Regional Court of Hamburg since 2014. Christian tutored at the China-EU School of Law in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016 and was the coach of the school’s Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot team in 2014 and 2015.
