Polish CESL students share their experience about studying at Jagiellonian University with Chinese colleagues

Due to the recent establishment of a student-exchange agreement between the China-EU School of Law (CESL) at the Chinese University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) and Jagiellonian Univeristy in Kraków, Poland, a group of students from the Jagiellonian University decided to hold a meeting with Chinese students to provide more information about this exciting exchange opportunity.

The meeting took place on 29 November in the Mingfa Builiding. The Polish student group, consisting of Edyta, Ola, Mateusz, Hubert and Patryk, are currently studying Chinese law taught in English at CESL in Beijing. This group gave an enthusiastic presentation about the Jagiellonian Univerisity, the city of Kraków and Poland overall. Some other Polish students came to lend support from the audience.

The presentation covered a brief history of Poland, matters of living and learning in Kraków, and the many advantages of picking Jagiellonian University as a study destination for CESL students. A combination of history mixed with modernity and internationality, with close localization to the city center, a friendly English-speaking community, and low staying expenses compared to places in Western Europe are just a few of the appeals, in addition to the overall charm of the region, that were discussed during the talk.

Jagiellonian University is among the oldest universities in the world (established in 1364) and currently has nearly four thousand international students coming from 52 countries and 240 universities. The courses offered for international students are given in English. The Law Faculty in particular has a long lasting history of being the best in Poland, what is proven every year (and has been proven this year as well) in the national evaluation of “Portal of Prospects” (PL – Perspektywy), other international rankings, and by the biggest number of graduates later passing the national law application exam (85.5%).

Since they deeply care about having a strong partnership with China, Jagiellonian University (JU) has developed an introductory site in Chinese language. You are highly encouraged to check it out by following the links below, and if you’re interested in studying in Poland, to also visit the more developed site in English language, where various detailed guides about studying in JU for international students can be found.
