The Use of Soft Law by National Courts and Public Authorities: An EU-China Comparison

On 13 November 2019, an international workshop on “The Use of Soft Law by National Courts and Public Authorities: An EU-China Comparison” was held in Shenzhen as part of a CESL funded research project. The research group is led by Prof. Mariolina Eliantonio from Maastricht University. The workshop which was held at the Peking University School of Transnational Law in Shenzhen dealt with topics such as opportunities and challenges of soft law, the use of soft law by public authorities in the financial and economic fields, the use of soft law by public authorities in the protection of values related to environment and public health as well as soft law and standards for legal innovation. The workshop participants came from different European, American and Asian universities.
