On 16th November 2018, the foreign students studying Chinese law at CESL together with Assistant Professor Monika Prusinowska had a chance to visit two law firm offices and meet the professionals.
The first law firm visited was the German Beiten Burkhardt law firm, and the second one was the Chinese AnJie law firm. The main purpose of the visits was to get another step closer to the work and life of lawyers in Beijing.
In addition to discussing various legal aspects that lawyers come across in their daily practice, such as Sino-foreign contracts, outbound investment and cross-border dispute resolution issues, Simon Henke and Corrina Li of Beiten Burkhardt and Darren Mayberry of AnJie shared with the students their experience and challenges of living in a vibrant city of Beijing.
