In an intensive candidate forum on 20 March, graduate students at the China-EU School of Law have elected new student leaders for 2018. Chairman-elect Lin Chen was acclaimed. The Vice Chairmen will be Huang Weijing and Fu Mingzhu. The three had the highest percentage of the anonymous vote by China-EU School of Law masters students from the 2016 and 2017 intake. “I am determined to work hard for every student at the China-EU Schoolof Law and for the future development of this law school,” Lin Chen said. All three student leaders expressed their gratitude to the voters for their support and trust. The candidate forum included recommendations by other students, campaign speeches, a question and answers section and an anonymous voting.

In her report on the Union’s work during the last year, Huang Huixin, the 2017 Chairman, highlighted the success of the orientation week for new students, the joyfulness of the New Year’s Eve Party, and the positive feedback the union received on organising meetings with graduates to promote exchange of professional experience and establish closer relations between alumni and current students. “I am happy to handover these tasks now to the new, 9th presidium, and wish every success in continuing this work for the China-EU School of Law students,” Huang Huixin said.
The Students’ Union also consists of 4 departments. Three representatives for each department were won through acclamation. The following representatives were elected to serve on the 9th Students’ Union
· Culture and Entertainment Department: Guo Ruiya, Chen Rongbin, Sun Ke
· Publicity Department: He Dan, Xue Jinhua, Du Haopeng
· Office: Wang Yueming, Yang Shuqing, Liu Chang
· Academic Department: Wu Dongxin, Chang Yuan, Yi Xing
The Students’ Union’s main task is to build a bridge between China-EU School of Law students and the School management, to organize activities, and to contribute to the future development of the law school.
