Great interest in the China-EU School of Law

On Wednesday, 20 April 2016, policymakers and academics from Europe and China met at the “The China-EU School of Law as a Bridge of Legal Dialogue” evening reception in the Hanse-Office in Brussels. About 40 participants took the opportunity to discuss the latest developments in China-EU legal relations and legal education. The reception also demonstrated the role the China-EU School of Law plays in strengthening this dialogue.

The keynote speakers were Zhang Lirong, Minister and Deputy Head of the Mission of the People’s Republic of China to the European Union, and Jo Leinen, Member of the European Parliament and Chair of the Delegation for relations with the People’s Republic of China. Following their speeches, Prof. Liu Fei and Prof. Armin Hatje, Co-Deans of the China-EU School of Law, informed the audience about the jointly-run law school’s latest achievements.

The Hanse-Office is the joint representation of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and the German federal state of Schleswig-Holstein to the European Union.
