Professor Zheng Yongliu will continue his work as the Director of the Institute for Legal Philosophy and Interdisciplinary Research of Law at the China-EU School of Law until 30 June 2018. He received the official documents in June from the Chinese Co-Dean Professor Liu Fei. Professor Chen Jinghui and Associate Professor Fan Libo of the China University of Political Science and Law and Professor Zhu Qingyu of Zhejiang University Guanghua Law School were confirmed as researchers.
The Institute for Legal Philosophy and Interdisciplinary Research of Law (LPI ) was founded in 2011 with the purpose of establishing a transdisciplinary approach to legal studies. The most significant publication, the “Archives for Legal Philosophy and Sociology of Law” magazine, is published annually, compiling papers from domestic and overseas scholars. Additionally, the LPI’s researchers have issued 21 papers in journals both in China and abroad, written and translated books, compiled 6 sections of textbooks and published 3 issues of the “Legal Theory” e-journal. 4 interdisciplinary research topics have been funded successively by the institute and 3 PhD students been supported to carry out research during short stays in Germany and America. The institute also invited famous scholars from America, Germany and the Netherlands to visit the China-EU School of Law. Four to five times a year, the “Lyceum for Interdisciplinary Law” is held at the LPI for mostly young scholars from Beijing. About ten times a year, the “Jimen Legal Philosophy Seminar” is organised. Additionally, the institute runs its own academic microblog since 2012 which has achieved favorable reputation in the academic community.
