Zheng Yongliu laudatory speaker for Ulfrid Neumann

The German jurist Prof. Ulfrid Neuman was honoured with a commemorative publication in a ceremony at Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany, on the occasion of his 70th birthday on 30 September 2017. Prof. Zheng Yongliu from the China-EU School of Law was one of three laudatory speakers. More than 150 well-known jurists and scholars in the field of jurisprudence and criminal law coming from Europe, Asia and Latin America gathered at the event. In European academia, in particular in Germany, a commemorative publication is a book honouring a respected person, especially an academic, and presented during his or her lifetime.

Prof. Ulfrid Neumann is a lecturer and Professor of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedural Law, Legal Philosophy and Legal Sociology at Goethe University Frankfurt. He served as president of the “International Association of Legal and Social Philosophy” (“Internationale Vereinigung für Rechts- und Sozialphilosophie” from 2011 to 2015, and now serves as chief editor of the association publication. Prof. Zheng Yongliu is also chief editor of this publication. Prof. Ulfrid Neumann plans to visit the China-EU School of Law in April 2018.
