CESL professors amongst “100 most influential legal scholars”


The China-EU School of Law’s Prof. Jiang Ping and Prof. Zheng Yongliu belong to China’s 100 most influential legal scholars according to “China Today”. They were selected by the monthly magazine because they “substantially contribute to advancing socialist legal theory and the Chinese legal system,” editors argue in the March 2017 issue. Furthermore, they support legal education in China. Within the list of 100 legal scholars, Prof. Jiang Ping was honoured as one of the 20 “Outstanding Senior Legal Scholars in China” and Prof. Zheng Yongliu as one of the 80 “Legal Scholars Providing Prominent Contribution”. Prof. Jiang Ping is faculty member in the PhD programme and Prof. Zheng Yongliu is faculty member in the double master’s programme at the China-EU School of Law.

Prof. Jiang Ping is a former President of the China University of Political Science and Law. His interests focus mainly on Roman Law, Civil Law, Commercial and Corporation Law. Prof. Zheng Yongliu is Director of the China-EU School of Law’s Institute for Legal Philosophy. He conducts research and teaches in the fields of Legal Philosophy, Sociology of Law, Human Rights and Legal Education.

In the list of 100 professors, there are 12 more professors from the China University of Political Science and Law into which the China-EU School of Law is integrated. Prof. Zhang Jinfan, Prof. Chen Guangzhong, Prof. Pan Handian and Prof. Wu Changzhen were also selected as “Outstanding Senior Legal Scholars in China”. Prof. Huang Jin, Prof. Ma Huaide, Prof. Ying Songnian, Prof. Zhu Yong, Prof. Fan Chongyi, Prof. Wang Weiguo, Prof. Bian Jianlin and Prof. Zhang Xudong were selected as “Legal Scholars Providing Prominent Contribution”.
